Pulmuone Spicy Beef Flavored Ramen Noodle Soup Starter

If you like the flavor of beef, then this is the ramen for you.
Contents (from left to right, top to bottom): Dried vegetables, Soup base and Noodles

The noodles are wide and flat, one of the most common styles of noodles in instant ramen. They're very tender and chewy when cooked and due to their waviness, hold onto the flavor of the broth really well. 
Dried vegetables (green onion, seaweed, carrot, pepper, shiitake mushroom)

The sauce (Sorry, it looks kind of gross here.)

This ramen is a little different in that the base comes as a paste instead of a powder. When I opened the packet, I was immediately hit with the smell of beef. The base is added to the pot with the noodles and vegetables.


Overall, I liked this ramen. It's a nice change to have a beef-based broth as opposed to a seafood one (which is what I normally find when I buy ramen). The vegetables add a nice change in texture whenever you come across one, and the noodles are great as always.

 On the spiciness scale, this was a 5. It was comfortably spicy, and the beefiness of the broth gives it a nice heaviness.

Ottogi Cold Soy Milk Noodle (콩국수) Ramyun If you're looking for a cool, refreshing ramyun, then you may want to give this one a go! The Ottogi brand is another prominent company in the ramyun industry, with products such as Jin Ramyun, the Ppushu Ppushu snack ramyun and the Sesame Ramyun.  I decided not to eat a spicy one this week, partially because this one was on sale when I went to the store and I hadn't tried it before. The noodles were fabulously soft and chewy, as usual with most Korean ramyun. The interesting thing about this one was that I had to strain and cool the noodles after cooking them. Although since it's a cold ramyun, I suppose that's a given, haha. The broth for this ramen is prepared separately from the noodles, and uses cold water. As you can see in the picture below, it's very milky and has sesame seeds in it. Perhaps I didn't wait long enough before I ate it (in my defense, I was hungry), but the soup was very gritty...
